I just wanted to write and thank Gothic Match for introducing us. My partner is no longer a member, but we met on here January 2008. We dated long distance from Jan 2008 - July 2008, I moved to Nottingham to be with him and we moved in together July 2009. He proposed to me after an AC/DC concert in Paris last week and I accepted! We plan to marry next summer and are so happy.

I was living in Kansas at the time and she was in Chicago. I had started looking outside of my own state and in other cities closer to my home state of Indiana in hopes that during a visit back home I could make a detour to meet someone special. She responded to my emails and after some getting to know one another online and over the phone, agreed to a meeting in Chicago. We went for a nice walk and had some dinner, and saw our first movie together in theaters, V for Vendetta. We continued to speak and go out, finally progressing to her making flights to Kansas and me doing the same for Chicago until I was finally able to move here to Chicago about a year later. We were married about a year after our first date and haven't looked back since..

There was never a thought in my mind that I would be one to fill out this form about how I met someone on a dating site. Hee I sit almost a year later after meeting my hot German boyfriend on Gothic Match, and I couldn't be happier. German has been a part of my life since I was 13 years old (when I first began studying the language) up until the way of University and there was a part of me that secretly hoped I would meet someone who I could practice my language skills with and go to Music festivals with.
