As I read the bad poetry, plagiarized song lyrics, sob stories of 85% of people here I see a pattern.

The pattern is we all start off as Idealistic Romantics unless you grew up in a fucked up environment from the get go.

I think being Romantic is an amazing trait to have and we should all have it...What I think is a weakness is people's urge to take everything to an extreme.

Like the dude who does everything for his friends as they use him and he continues with the mantra "A good friend HAS to put up with everything!"

Same with Romantics, they have an almost childish belief (My opinion) that they have to suffer everything for their love:

Dude/Girl treats them like trash...They make excuses as to why he/she did that

Dude/Girl cheats on them...They make excuses as to why he/she did that

Dude/Girl leaves them broken for another...They cry and tell them they will ALWAYS wait for them.

Problem is songs, poetry, movies and society is filled with this notion.

Instead of a Position of Strength being pushed they push a subservient aspect on waiting for the good graces of another for your happiness.

Not saying I wasn't burned but that was about 22-21 years ago last time I did anything so stupid.

Not saying the heart doesn't whisper stupid advice late at night for you to write what it feels in the form of a text, email or voice message but from experience and from viewing the results of many many many people I'm going to say it doesn't work as a whole.

Sadly this advice can be known but not understood till you're THERE.

I've been where you heartbroken people are listening to sad music, reading old love letters looking at old pics wanting to call...But I didn't.

Sometimes you just have to get rid of the letters, the pictures and stop listening to sad love songs not because it doesn't feel good to wrap yourself in unrequited love but because it's not healthy.

I know you hear it all the time but it's true: If someone doesn't appreciate you walk away...It won't get better and sooner or later you'll meet someone who will make you happier.

I tell you there is unconditional love. It just doesn't come from human beings. It comes from the Holy Spirit. Jesus had unconditional love your mother has unconditional love. I learned a lot about unconditional love having a child and raising him. I almost died from having him. And now he's all grown up still trying to figure out how to be a grown up and ok but my job is pretty well done nothing I won't be here for him for the rest of my life because I will. And yeah I got married later life and I never thought I would get married again. But I learned a lot about what love really is and it's not about what you can get out of that person it's about the reflection in their eyes. If you can see yourself in somebody else even though they're totally different from you but maybe they have some of the same soul some of the same mindset some of the same ancestors some of the same struggle or at least similar but if they can understand that you are like so much more than you are different and that you should never make somebody do something for you or make them feel a blood that they have to then they're going to want to do it. Doesn't matter if they're in perfect you love them for that too it helps to check yourself because you're not perfect either. The beautiful intimacy and dedication of a true love which means that you dedicated yourself to continue to love that person for the rest of your life I think there is true love. I even wrote a song I don't believe in love or it was a poem actually but I put it to music a few times. I think once you know unconditional love is really there then I think you can attain unconditional love and I don't mean someone else unconditionally loving you I mean you unconditionally loving someone else. You just have to make sure that that person is not going to make or break you but that you're willing to continue on loving them because they accept and respect you and you accept and respect them. Every relationship could be ruined in a matter of minutes no matter how strong it is because you can hurt people by being a spoiled little brat and saying things lashing out to hurt someone else by attacking who they are inside. People do that all the time with their words and they don't even realize that that is what they are doing to ruin their relationships to break their loved ones hearts when they didn't even really intend to do that at all. Respect and acceptance no demands and no blaming. I'm sorry if some of this is not auto typed correctly as I can barely see with a bad migraine today missing out on the beautiful de but that's okay. Even though I cried in front of my husband that hurt him because I know he's sensitive and it's hard for him to see me in pain and he hurts when I cry I didn't do it to hurt him but I know a woman crying basically is like punching her man in the gut. See I'm sensitive even though I'm not a man I understand that men are different and I understand that they also have feelings just like women do we just process them differently that doesn't mean there is unconditional love. I will always love all of my past lovers. I refuse to put all the blame on them even my ex husband who abandon us on the street. Years later I think I understand what he does and what he's doing with his life even though I wouldn't do it but I can understand how somebody would be in that kind of denial and that's how they get through their lives and not kill themselves. There's been a lot of crime in my town the last couple of months people live being are being shot driving down the highway randomly and killed. That is not Colorado. We all need to show each other some lunch unconditional love just a little smile even when somebody's grouchy. You can love them and not be around them. You can love them by respecting them and accepting them and being kind whenever you possibly can because that's charity. Charity isn't just giving money to people. I can tell you this there is unconditional love you love your dog don't you? Don't you think the bird it comes and visits you in your backyard loves you unconditionally and is trusting you even though you could kill him at any second? Yes there is unconditional love and that's why Santa Claus is a neat story because it is a fairytale that lets you know that somebody does love you even though you never see him and wants to spoil you even though you totally don't deserve it and maybe it's not very good for you but once in awhile is OK.
