I would want something for those who loved me to think on. Not happy, that would just rub it in, but not overly depressing. Probably Good Enough by Evanescence.

I wouldn't object to Cradle of Filth's "Swansong for a Raven", either. Either Type O or Cradle would work. Or maybe, Type O at the beginning, when everyone's getting settled, to set the mood....then Cradle at the end, so they leave with something that'll stick in their heads for a while.

there are currently two songs that pops up in my mind, that i would wish that could be played at my funeral, those songs are 'heavens a lie' by lacuna coil, and 'the wreckage of my flesh' by my dying bride.
A friend of mine recently said to me, after i had put on my dying bride: ''bro, are this a funeral all the sudden?''...

strange question, as i was only talking about this with my friens the other day. My choice was either, disarm or drown by the smashing pumpkins.

WONDERFULL "Deicider",
You must see them live, also thier new cd is destined to be released March 13th :) they make quite a few good funeral songs.

Re:

I'm itching to see them live, but their shows are few and far between these days. I heard about the new album, and I can't wait :)

True. The majority of songs in their catalog would make good dirges lol

i would have dust in the wind, highway to hell, and no more tears because i want to be cremated, i know im going to hell, and because i dont want my family to cry at my funeral, cuz i hate seeing them like that.
