ahh what to say other than I'm here to talk listen and share
in my honest opinion it is childish to believe in god, society pays for religions affects on the minds of youth and the fearful, kids being born in a faith that they gave no consent towards it is not the parents choice to make such a vital decision that will forever dominate that child's logic
the very moral fibre of society falls due to religion we are in a constant state of decadence because of the medias suppression of free thought
about such subjects now I'm young and have much going for me and much to learn but this is just my state of mind there is more but i need opinions to get me going
Well in some respects i see your argument. but faith can make you a strong person, explaining why doctors, lawyers may be religious. Religion can be used for policital gain, but i think thats what the bibles about. the bible actually talks about how the leaders of the world will be tricked by the devil which will lead to the end. those at the top who have the money and power and hold the nervous system of society are in the greatest danger of going to hell. people will always manipulate religion for there own ends.
Seek and you will find, more questions! This is why the old Rabbis said men were not to study the Kabala until they had turned 44. This would encourage them to have a family and career, first.
Unlike myself, complelled to find spiritual truths and occult knowledge from an early age. I had to meet Annubis in a meditation and have him rag out on me that I had enough answers and to go have a life! I took his advice and, hence, I'm a late bloomer with young kids at 51.
Religion may be a shallow sheppard of the masses, but I have experienced that we live in a multi-dimensional world. It is available for your discovery, your pleasure, and the enrichment of your soul.
I have to agree with EdOneil. I wish to whatever God there is that I had kept my nose out of religious texts when I was your age, and concentrated on partying and studying. It's nice to be able to think critically on these things, but your future is much more important, because no matter what comes after you die, you still have to live.

Silent hand, when I was that age my thoughts were very similar on said subjects, so before I go off on a rant, let's just say you'll have way more fun and less regrets later on, if you lighten up a little.
As for you opinion on "it's childish to believe in god", that itself is a childish way of thinking. This is from an atheist who once thought that way. The grand scheme of things is way to complex for any mind to really grasp, and being too preachy one way or the other is a sign of immaturity. None of us will ever know the answers in our lifetime to the questions most of the users in this board seek. Debating amongst one another is certainly a healthy way with dealing with the inadequacies of our own minds. Don't sweat this stuff to much, cause it leads to darker things... kinda like the majority of a goth board. You don't want that do you?
Just words of advice, from someone who has regrets from once being in the same shoes.
to be religious is not childish i think, but to mindlessly follow, to accept without thinking models and patterns of behavior could be called childish but i would call it stupid, children could be naive but with experience they /we learn ways of life. sadly some ppl can accept what they have learned and cant think for them selves. that's where organized religion comes in with manipulation and 'socially acceptable' morality. all that some tricks makes world looking like it looks.
what i think is childish is that some people think that if you are not an athiest you are childish and stupid.
Think about this: what percent of the population of the world has an organized religion of some sort, 98+%? probably more, its probably a fraction of a percent. Cold hard logic (and evolution via survival of the fittest) would tell you that there is no what that there could be THAT many childish people alive.
In fact, if you take a close look at some very smart people, including doctors, lawyers (yes, them too), judges, and university professeors, bankers, owners of big buisness etc etc you will find that the vast overwhelming majority are religious. One could even argue that athiests are in general less successfull than those with a religion.
Heres a few more things you can think about, big business and bank are pretty much all run by religious jews. China and India have a very religious population and like every last one of them is a gifted computer programmer (or so i'm told) Between the Christian Asians and the Regular kind of christian, theres all the professors/phd's you'll ever meet at a university.
The world is full of smart individuals, and it has no bearing on their religious values, thats a separate topic all together
i can understand were you coming from on this its not good to press a religous path on some one but if it helps you later why not beleave what you want as long as it helps you get by and do good things what does it matter what you beleave just as long as you dont hurt any one or do what the cathlic preists do its all good couse there is no true way to go its all about were you end up in life
seeing as that no one is replying I'll try to keep talking
as i was sayin before
its childish
society pays for their unseen god and Messiah
religion the great liar
and people cant help but sire to its will
because they have none of their own
nobody wants to fear what is near
for religion stares them down with a leer
poetry helps me alot even though its shity rhyming its of the timing to feel the words
