Uhhhh I saw a movie something along the lines of "Queen of Blades"? It involved a woman running away from a clan of assasins that used to be her family but betrayed her, she fell in love with some guy but it ended tragicaly, anyone know the name of the movie? Was I right in my assumption?

I like alot of the old japanese movies in black and white and I mean sure color introduced a whole new world of showing the colors of what people wore and all, but with black and white the director had to work really hard to make a movie without color by change of light etc.

Old samurai movies are great.

Re: The Grudge/Ju-on -

I've totally flipped over Ghost Kayako. If only I can meet a gal like her in real life...

On top of the ones listed, I have to reccomend Cutie Honey...for just over the top silliness...also check out Casshern...which is a flawed movie, but is visually stunning with the green screen...plus robots..i mean come on..robot stompy boOOm good. Aside for japanese....if anyone hasn't checked out park chanwook from korea, you are missing out, while Sympathy for Mr. Vengence is amazing...nothing hits you as hard as watching Oldboy for the first time. I envy you...

Japanese anime is one of my favorites from SF/Fantasy/Horror because of its originality.

I love Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

Princess Monoke and Ghost in the Shell are really great, too.

Like a few listed though love the horror movies. Ringu's great, watch them all! Suicide Club takes the cake though, what's better for the wee hours of the morning than a movie where everyone kills themselves from listening to pop music?
