Conversations with a pre-op transexual energy vampyre!
34 Views          10/05/09
I was recently having a conversation with a pre-op transexual (M to F) who think s/he's an energy vampyre!¿
Call me a tad cynical, but I don't believe in energy vampyres!¿ Especially one who comes across as rather disturbed, or possibly experiencing post tramatic stress disorder as a result of a car accident.
Have a read of this and see what you make of it!¿ I quote VERBATIM!...

I need some help

I had a car wreak last year and have been have trouble when i feed. I am an energy vamp and i learned from a young age how to feed of all living things. Lately when i feed something feels wrong about the energy i am taking. instead of it making me feel warm safe and happy it has started to make me edgy and short tempered half the time and really depressed the other half i have not feed in a mnth because i don't like to depressed or short fuse feelings i have been getting, but i need to feed soon can anyone help me figure out why this is happening and or some way to fix it so i can feed again. The head aches have been getting worse everyday fo the past week.

One More Nightmare!

I like to shop in "Forbbiden Planet" and "Orc's Nest" in London, as they are a good source for RPG and Doctor Who books. However, why is it that so many of the clientele in these shops reek of body odour!?

Just thought I'd ask!

Fields of the Nephilim at the Shepherds Bush Empire
29 Views          08/30/08
The latest issues of METAL HAMMER and ALTERNATIVE
magazine are now on sale at W H Smith, in the UK.

Both have a review of the Shepherds Bush Empire gigs
(Alternative also has a review of the Cherry Red FOTN
DVD).

The Metal Hammer is mostly positive. Although it does
express dissatisfaction that Zoon material was
performed. (It seems that Zoon is still an acquired
taste. I rather like it and own about four copies of
the album!) The gigs scored a 9.

Alternative is an ok review, but is also critical of
the Zoon material, critical of a lack of interaction
between the band and the audience (but, dear reviewer,
Carl has always been the one to let the music and
singing tell the story and not himself), and the
reviewer also felt that stretching the material over
two shows was not a good idea.

As one who attended both gigs and the aftershow party,
I left both nights feeling very happy and contented
indeed. Albeit with a lighter bank balance, having
bought about four t-shirts, 6 pendants, 3 postcard/badge
packs, and several badges. Ouch! Defied the credit
crunch, I did that weekend!

Fields of the Nephilim - Ad Mortem and Ad Vitam
20 Views          07/26/08
The Fields of the Nephilim gigs in London on 12th and 13th July were fantastic! (I was also at the Astoria gig last year.)

I spotted a number of special guests including Scarlett McCoy (Carl McCoy's eldest daughter), Richard Stanley (film maker), Andrew Collins (writer), and Anne Sudworth (artist). Apparently Ville Vallo (HIM) was also there, although I did not bump in to him.

I saw Carl McCoy arrive on both days, with his Hells Angels entourage!

On the Sunday, I got recognised by John Carter; Carl's bass player and session musician. I know that I have been a fan for a long time, now that I have been recognised by the bass player, whom I do not know from Adam!

Roll on the next UK gigs!!!

Where are all the Kentish Goths gone!?

Where have all the Kentish Goths gone!?

Why is it that all the people that I have things in common with, the people who interest me, or the people who are interested in me, all live miles away from me!?

Where have all the Kentish Goths gone!?

There are a lot of interesting people on this list, but they all seem to live outside of Kent.

(Unfortunately, I have the misfortune of hailing from the town with the HIGHEST teenage pregnancy rates in WESTERN EUROPE! Good old Maidstone! There are no end of teenage girls & gymslip mothers looking for the latest bozo to get them pregnant, but not many Goths!)

I should really learn how to drive. But that would mean gettting out onto the road and dueling with the Great British Public!

Where have all the Kentish Goths gone!!!???

Steph has left the building!
15 Views          06/15/08
As if to prove that the Great British Public have a good sense of humour, Stephanie has been the first contestant to be voted out of the 2008 BIG BROTHER competition.

Stephanie wanted to be the most famous Big Brother housemate ever. However, her plans have gone astray via her being the 1st to be voted out of this years competition! And as one other Big Brother contestant said, the losers are not remembered!

(Stephanie was once a contestant on "Pop Stars", as hosted by Simon Cowell. She could have become a member of "Girls Aloud", but got kicked off the competition when the judges found out that she was only 13 at the time. And now she has been kicked off of Big Brother! Karma!)

The problem with people like Stephanie is they just want to be rich and famous, but they do not want to do anything create or do anything that requires a bit of brain power. They just want to be rich and famous, but not do a lot to get there.

Well, it's back to obscurity for Stephanie!

Karma and the Great British Public do have an excellent sense of humour!

Gothic Big Brother
34 Views          06/10/08
The UK's annual television Victorian freak show "BIG BROTHER" has recently started again on Channel Four.

Horrible though it is, I still think it makes fascinating viewing. But then again, I work on a mental health hospital site, so I suppose
for me watching Big Brother is a bit like taking my work home with me!

* * * *

Here's a little discussion for you...

If there was a Goth Big Brother, you would you put in the house?

My vote would be Carl McCoy, Andy Delaney and Peter "Bob" White. It would be interesting to see how they would get on! I would also throw in (literally and metaphorically) Wayne Hussey and Andrew Eldritch into the mix.

Although Eldritch would probably sit in a tent in the garden, refusing to socialise with the others as he considers them "Too Goth"!

"Andrew Eldritch has left the building!"

Katie Melua has Gothic appeal! She does, you know!
50 Views          06/04/08
I was recently at Katie Melua's gig at the Royal Albert Hall in London (great gig!). And although Katie is not Goth herself, in my considered opinion she does have some Gothic appeal. And she was all dressed in black during her performance!

Having been let down twice recently (romantically let down that is), I have been listening to Katie's tunes "Piece by piece" and "It's only pain" (the former written by little Katie herself). "It's only pain" perfectly sums relationship break-up, and how one tries to hide one's feelings....oh god, am I sounding like an Emo!?

And these tunes have a Romatic Goth appeal, to an extent.

Both these two songs can be found on Katie's second album "Piece by Piece". Well worth a little listen.

Fields of the Nephilim - Ceremonies 2008

Carl McCoy's band "Fields of the Nephilim" will be performing two back-to-back gigs in London this July. Saturday 12th July and Sunday 13th July 2008 at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Tickets for these Fields of the Nephilim concerts are currently on sale.

Other details can be found on the official Fields of the Nephilim Internet site.

These concerts coincide with the 25th anniversary of Fields of the Nephilim. And I shall be at both!

"Celebrate, with love and praise"

I was at the Fields of the Nephilim gig at the London Astoria last year. Although Carl's musicians may have changed in recent years, I can confirm that Carl and the current line-up of his band can put on an excellent show!
