I just went on vacation but the night before I left I got a quick text from my landlady..."They broke in and robbed the house! "

In a panic I got home and by good Graces from God/Pure Luck/Good Karma they only stole my piggie bank (Yes I had one...Which I had pretty much emptied for my vacation) and my new Flatscreen Tv but they left my weapons and other assorted things...Reason?

They heard my roomie coming in through the garage and ran out before they could wipe me out...So now my weapons are elsewhere and besides my clothes and shoes I have nothing of value there.

Now for the last 8 years I've warned that things are getting worse and worse...But I have started to soften...Happens when you're on alert for too long but then nothing happens...You get complacent, sloppy and weak minded.

NOW this has woke me up...If my roomie came home 5 minutes later, all she would have found is a kicked in door and a trashed house...I could have been wiser but much much poorer and probably very angry at myself.

So as always I'm going to look at the Silver Lining in the Cloud and assume that it was a wake up call...That an alarm system is now needed whereever I live...That one should always leave only as much as one cares to lose.

Now Monterey is a good county and who knows what those in worse neighborhoods go through but my bad luck can be someone else's lesson if they care to listen...Window locks, small dogs, no jewelry, cash, guns in bedroom...Robberies will happen everywhere but how much you lose depends on you...I was lucky next time I'll make sure yjere's nothing worthwhile to steal...They can only f*ck me over if I let them...Play smart don't be a Lazy Noodles.
