Have been meaning to write this for some time but as usual work and the need to sleep got in the way ...went to a memorial gig that three members of the Church did for Margot a couple of weeks ago - she left us in April this year.
I s'pose for most people you won't have heard of her as she was an Australia artist was you could say was tori Amos before there was a Tori Amos. She only made three albums and finding them is difficult. Go and listen to her songs at margotsmith dot com
Gone but not forgotten Margot trusting that you new existence provides greater happiness than the one you left

A Summer to remember - or what do you do to get over it :-)

Here in Fortress Sydney we have not been flooded out, burnt out (though it is bushfire season and there is still the opportunity for that to happen), blown away - the cyclones seem to like Queensland ... however we have our own deadly combination:
Humidity and Heat!
For a week we have had temps over 32C and nights where it hasn't gone below 25C and with no southerly breeze things have not been clement at all.
So people what are your ideas for surviving this torture - other than moving permananetly (or for three months into the cold room of the local bottle shop (they throw you out))

Worst Song remakes Ever

Inspired my Mohawk's (fave video clips of all time) I am interested to find out which do you think are the worst song remakes - the reason for this delving into the putrid ... driving to work and listening to TripleJ they played Urth Boy's version of "London Calling" by the Clash. Words fail me as to how terrible that is ... so to launch this festival of Horror let me submit two nominees:-

uni is over for the year ... 2008 has been a very intense time uni-wise for me but now its over and I can sit and do blissful nothing - well that is apart from work that is.
Have decided not to do a summer semester unit so there is only one more unit (fingers crossed) that I pass all the subjects this semester and I am done :-) and I can regress to childhood (lol OK under 18) and be a Master

sigh well black Friday was good for me - I must have pulled a good mark out of my arse to struggle OK scrape a Distinction for my last semester's unit but I am just so over work and everything - everything is bland and tasteless and you get the felling that nothing is really going to change and you can't be frelled even trying to change ... grrrr

those suffering in the southern hemisphere will understand this (though I see on the news that New York is not in Winter when it should be) ... I am over Summer I am over the heat and all we get thanks to the Ozone layer depletion is more and more hot days. For the past week where I live has been suffering days > 31C and strangely (cause we are inland) it has been sticky heat ... so to paint a picture its hot, its sticky, there is a total fire ban, and your at stage 3 water restrictions ,,, (that means you can't even clean your car either with a hose or simply buckets of water or water the garden etc ...

Well its me again and I am so tired from visiting some people I know in Melbourne - and its not as though we partied till the sunlight hours.
Think that working for 10 months straight is finally starting to bite me - come on Christmas I need those 3 weeks of leave

Phew yes another unit completed (OK I have done the exam) on my ever increasing death by degrees tour :-) only 7 more units to do and I can become a Master ... all I need then is a Renfield or 2 (yes master coming master hehehe).
4 weeks of non study before I start a summer semester - this I am sure will try me especially as work is still full on. Sigh no time for live bands littel time to listen to music save as an adjunct to study ..... mutter, mutter

Ah Management not content to have us slave away balancing work and study life (your not allowed a home/play life) 9+ hours a day they have to panic and drive some of the guys in my team to work till midnight and then back up on Saturday (OK me included) and for what - well the arse that raised the panic was no longer worried ... must have been a great ego rush look Mum I got all these people to drop everything for me aren't I important ... sometimes you think that the Aztecs had it right ... an obsidian knife a stone alter and ...
