Just got back from Soundwave 2012.
Out of fucking control to say the very least!
Yet another great year.
Manson strutted No.1 stage like he was a member of the fucking royal family. And to be honest... He might as well have been. Total show master & entertainer. Even I was a bit taken back. He had his shit goin on & he fucking knew it. Like any good entertainer would.
Mastodon were off thier fuckin nuts & Slipknot pulled one of the biggest crowds i've ever seen tham pull.
It was total fucking mayhem!
Then came the clash of the Headliners!
Raised Fist, Machinehead & System Of A Down all playing at the same time on different stages...
What to do?????????????
I went with The System because I'd seen both the others 3 or 4 times & I knew they'd be back but System Of A Down aren't getting any younger these days & havn't played here in like 7 years so I thought better safe than spuin.
Dudes, they went off like a fucking rocket!
They were like bouncing off the fucking wall man!
Another AWESOME year for Melbourne!
Anyone else go?

So my whole family is going out for a beautiful Valentines dinner tonight.
My oldest son is bringing his girlfriend & the others are excited about the whole thing!
Awesome huh?
Not really.
Dinner is with mum & the "New Guy".
Killer.

I have very few pleasures in my life these days.
Like....................... VERY few.
One however, is eating sushi.
It's a comfort thing I guess.
Whilst enjoying it I seem to enter another dimension for some reason.
All the shit goes away for 15 minutes or so.
It's like magic!
I just wanted to share this with you. -

A good friend of mine died this morning.
He was an old timer, - 89 - but that doesn't make it any easier.
I'm so sad today.
He was my "life mentor" if you like.
He taught me so much about life,
but more importantly, how to live it.
To think of others first,
& yourself last.
A good, true Freemason he was.
Both inside & outside of the lodge.
It's been a very long time since I've felt such loss.
Once or twice in my life maybe.
I didn't even go to work today.
So sad.
For those of you who might ask,
YES I am a long serving FREEMASON & have been for more than 12 years now.
& For those of you who might ask,
please don't as I will not be drawn on the topic.
Ever.
Been crying all day.
Even at 7-11.!
How fucked is that?
They knew something was up, Joey wasn't his usual self.
Loss is harder to deal with than I remember.
There's no one to blame or take out your frustation on.
You just have to deal with it, which is quite hard right now because it's been such a long time since I've faced something so confronting.
There are no options to consider or an alternative course one might take.
It's just there right in front of you like it or not.

How awesome was the wedding then?
Even the MOHAWK shed a tear or two!
It was, to me, one of the most important unions of this age.
Both politically & socially.
What a joy it was to view.
Those two are bringing "ROYAL".............."BACK"!!!!!!!
All the pomp & ceremony, it was fucking amazing!
I can't think of another couple on the planet who might attract such global interest in this day & age.
Can you?
It was like a breath of fresh air.
In all the SHIT that's been going on lately, to see so many people just being happy was awesome.

The other day My 14 year old son mentioned that he had read somewhere that cockroaches would survive a nuclear war whilst us
"mere humans" would all perish.
I in all my wisdom told him that I too, had read the very same thing, but sighed & lamented we'll never know for sure son.
Scratching his head & looking skyward,
he thought for a second & came back with.........................
"If they can survive a nuclear fall-out -
what the F*CK is in bug spray?"
"Coz we spray that shit everywhere!"
Talk about a home run!
And we reackon the "SEX" questions are tough!

It's 1:42 am 1st of Jan 2011.
I saw the new year in with my middle son Elijah 8.
We sat on the beach at the mouth of the Patterson River
watching the fireworks in total awe.
We got there a lil early in order to grab a good spot - before all the drunk idiots who left their run a lil too late.
It was 40 degrees celcius here today folks so for all of you
in the U.S, U.K, & Europe that's 104 BABY!!!!!!!!!
We love it too!
The hotter - the better!
Elijah was SOOOO excited about seeing all the fireworks &
chillin at the beach he almost burst!
I backed down the drive & turned to go when he asked
me to stop for a second.
I spent the time between our arrival & the fireworks
explaining to my son the vertues humanitarian Goodwill.
It was not lost on me that before we left he made me stop the car so he could say a lil prayer.
"Dear God, please let all the poor people have a home & good things this year"
This kid is 8 years old.

I just spent 40 mins driving around the hood looking for my run-away
dog. I checked all the local parks & the local school & all of his usual haunts. I even checked a couple of houses where he's turned up before. Nothing. He's vanished.I was going nuts wondering where he could be with worst case senarios'flying around my head.Frantic.
Then it came to me.
He went to a friends house yesterday for an over-night stay!
40 mins of petrol & panic all for nothing.
I'm awesome!
Yeah, nah, awesome.
